Changing control card

Hi, I am enjoying using my CRD200A12E-XM3 inverter with my students at Newcastle University. I would like to change the control card so that my students can program their own Launchpad cards and then put them into the inverter - to avoid them overwriting the software in the current card. Does the control card just lift out easily or is it soldered in somehow ?
thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,
It's great to hear that you and your students are enjoying the CRD200A12E-XM3 inverter platform. You can absolutely do what you are proposing; we typically follow the same process. The control cards are not soldered to the control board, so you can remove them, program them separately, and then plug them back in to the inverter when ready to test.
One thing to note, as there are many pins on the control card, it can take a lot of force to remove or install the card to the control board. When installing, please make sure that you have the control card fully seated before powering on and testing. From experience, we've spent a good bit of time running down issues due to a control card not making adequate contact with the control board simply due to not pressing it firmly down onto the board.
Best Regards,
Austin C.
