Hello:

Regarding the reference design CRD-25BDA6512N-K, I noticed that its circuit topology is similar to the TIDA-01606 11-kW bidirectional three-phase three-level (T-type) inverter and PFC reference design. However, how did you manage to achieve such high power? If I want to further increase the power based on the CRD-25BDA6512N-K, how should I start modifying it? Could you please provide me with specific methods?

Thanks

    Hello Stephen,

It is not trivial subject. Increasing the power in the kW range is like designing a whole new converter. That means redesigning your power stage- lower Rdson MOSFETs/paralleling MOSFETs, bus capacitors, inductors, heat sinks, cooling, current/voltage sensing, protection circuitry and PCB. TIDA-01606's user-guide has some information and analysis on component selection that you can refer to. Please also refer to literature for capacitor sizing, PFC choke design, PCB power loss calculations, etc.

For semiconductor device selection you can use our SpeedFit™ Design Simulator. You will need some information about your thermal system or you can design to your required heatsink temperature. Thank you!
