Hi Wolfspeed expert,

My customer is evaluating our parts using SpeedVal HalfBridge Board.
When they attempted to evaluate with boost converter topology, they found that the GUI does not allow setting the duty cycle above 50%.

- What is the maximum value for the duty cycle setting?
- Is this possible to set the duty cycle above 50%?

Thank you for your support.

Best Regards,
Hiroshi

    Greetings:

The currently released GUI and firmware support duty cycles between 5 and 50%.

    Hi Julius,

Thank you for your answer. I have a couple of questions:
    - Is the limitation came from GUI and firmware, or just hardware limitation?
    - Is this possible to set the duty cycle above 50% by modifying the software?
    Thank you for your support.

    Best Regards,
    Hiroshi

    Greetings:

The limitation is in the GUI and firmware, not the hardware. We are currently investigating widening the limits in the GUI and firmware.

    Greetings:

Another way you can immediately run above 50% duty is to not use the controller card/GUI and provide your own pwm signals via the BNC inputs. Page 26 of the user guide explains this but I have attached an image below. You would need to connect your own metering since the GUI would not be active. We are continuing to investigate widening the limits in software/firmware but this would allow you to perform tests now.

    Hi Julius,

Thank you for your update. I will tell the customer to try it out, and also awaiting further update regarding firmware or GUI modifications to widening the limits.

    Best Regards,
    Hiroshi
