Thermal Derating vs Switching Frequency for 600kW Inverter

Our team needs 300+kW inverter to drive high speed motor requiring 3kHz output electrical frequency. For reliability and growth purpose we plan to use derated power inverter. We are not sure if the CRD300DA12E-XM3 300kW inverter would be enough in that case. The CRD600DA12E-XM3 600kW inverter seems like a good choice operating in parallel to get comfortably above 300kW. Can you provide us some thermal data (inverter power derating and/or virtual junction temperature) as a function of the switching frequency?

Thank you!

    ey Velinho,

I ran a simulation using our CAB450M12XM3 PLECS model to create a predicted Tj vs Current for the two inverters:

I assumed an 800V DC bus, 65 °C Fluid, 10 LPM (Rth,ext = 0.1 K/W), 50 Hz output frequency, SVPWM, ideal pf, etc. I also swept the switching frequency and took the point where current crossed over 175 °C:

Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

    Thanks,
    Blake
