CRD-30DD12N-K reference design : TMS320F28377D vs TMS320F28377S

With respect to the reference design of CRD-30DD12N-K, I have a question on the control board.

The device of TMS320F28377D is employed as the DSP.

I wonder if TMS320F28377S can be used instead of TMS320F28377D for the control board.

They are pin-to-pin compatible devices.

I wonder if the dual cores of TMS320F28377D are all used for its control firmware.

If only the single core of TMS320F28377D is used for its control firmware, I suppose that TMS320F28377S may be able to be used instead of TMS320F28377D for the control board.
