maximum gate voltage
Dear Sirs,
We intend to use your modules with Gen3 SiC which has -8/+19V maximum gate voltages as the datasheets.
We have now a lot of experience and converters with the CAS300M12BM2 using +19V/-6V, and also ready drivers with these voltages.
Question is if for the modules CAS350M12BM3 or CAB350M12BM3 we can use the same drive voltages(-6/+19V) as we do not want now to modify our gate drive voltages. As the gates are acting like RC first order time delay circuits the voltage spike direct on the chip gate should not be more than 19V. Is it a real danger if we override a little this 19V or it is more a gate power loss reduction at high switching frequencies ?
In this application we will switch at 20kHz so gate power loss is not a problem(we have 2x12W driver).
It would be really good if we could use the actual drivers for the first applications.
Second question is: we would need 8 pieces from one of the enumerated Mosfets modules(CAS350M12BM3 or CAB350M12BM3). Can you help us with a distributor who will have these in stock in the very near future ?
Thank you in advance for your answer.
Best regards,

Hello mszabi,
Thank you for your question. We do not recommend operating the devices outside of the voltages described in the datasheet. Operating a device at the voltages that you listed can influence the long-term reliability and performance of the device. It is not a limitation of the gate power loss.
As for a distributor, I am passing your contact information along to our sales team, and you can expect a direct email from them soon.
Thanks,
Chris N.
