Distance between driver and module connection busbar
Hello,
I have purchased your company's SiC module CAB450M12XM3 and its driver CGD12HBXMP. When I press and connect the driver to the module, the module pins are approximately 1cm away from the driver. But in my application, I raised the busbar connecting the module pins, and in the end, the busbar was approximately 3mm away from the driver. Can this distance ensure that the driver is not affected by high currents on the busbar?
Waiting for your reply.
Regards.

Hi baiyujing,
Assuming you follow proper layout design etiquette (signal traces tightly coupled to large ground or source planes) and suitable RC filtering for your PWM signals, then yes, moving your driver closer to the bussing should not be an issue. Ideally, you'd want the gate driver to be as close to the module as possible to reduce the inductance of your gate loop.
Best Regards,
Austin C.
