Hello,

In application note CPWR-AN28, peak voltage vs gate resistors are drawn in figure 25 and figure 26. I would like to know if the gate resistors as indicated on these graphs are only the external ones, or a combination of both internal and external gate resistors.

Thanks.

    Hi Duclair,

Do you mind to double-check the Application Note number or provide the title? I believe CPWR-AN28 refers to the mounting guide for the XM3 power module: https://assets.wolfspeed.com/uploads/2020/12/CPWR-AN28.pdf

    Best Regards,

    Austin C.

Hi. Sorry, the page title on windows explorer when I open the app note is CPWR-AN28, but I just noticed the right name of the file is rather : CPWR-AN45

    Hi Duclair,

Thank you for specifying. The gate resistors listed in these plots refer to the external gate resistor (typically called RG-EXT) on the gate driver PCB only. These values also do not include the output resistance of the gate driver IC. For transparency, we utilized the Texas Instruments® UCC21710 gate driver IC for this testing.

    Thanks,

    Austin C.
