I have following queries regarding CRD200DA12E-XM3

  • What is the operation environment (temperature)?
  • Is CAN interface is mandatory? Or we can Bypass the CAN interface and only work with the DSP Launchpad?
  • Can we change the source code from CAN interface?
  • Can we change the source code from the DSP Lauchpad?

    Hi aa2719,

    The inverter was designed to operate in a lab environment with the temperature around 25°C, but it is possible to operate at higher ambient temperatures. The ripple current on the capacitors and the power draw on the gate drivers due to the switching frequency will play a role in determining your maximum allowable ambient operating temperature. Did you have a particular target ambient temperature?

    You are not required to use the CAN interface, but it greatly simplifies the testing of the unit. You can bypass the CAN interface and work only with the DSP Launchpad.

    You are free to make any changes to the inverter reference design as desired. You can change the source code by requesting the firmware on the landing page for the CRD200DA12E-XM3.

    Hi aa2719,

    I would recommend that you bypass the CAN in the source code. If you handle the software correctly, there shouldn't be anything that needs to be changed physically on the board to bypass CAN.
