XM3 Module RTD Temperature Detection

Hello Wolfspeed,

I want to know how the output of XM3 module RTD is detected with DSP28379D?

I noticed in the CRD600DA12E-XM3 schematic that the RTD signal is connected to the GPIO40-GPIO47 pins of the DSP28379D, how does the DSP determine the temperature of the module from the frequency of the RTD output?

    Hi Nevermore,

By default the temperatures are read via the ADCs as highlighted below. This analog signal is derived from the frequency encoded RTD signal that is reported back from the gate drivers.

The RTD signals going into GPIO40-47 are provided if it is desired instead to use the ECAP peripheral to decode the frequency encoded temperature.

    Thanks,

    Jonathan
