3-Level Synchronous Buck-boost Converter (Boost Mode) Losses

HIya, I am simulating a 3L DCDC converter and i notice that the switching losses of the synchronous FET are 0W. Looking at the current waveforms it looks to be switching current, but in the negative direction.

Is this 0W correct?

Thanks

Matt

    Hi Matt,

The synchronous switch in this case will see the current flowing through the body diode during transitions, facilitating soft-switching of the device. The body diode model for the current PLECS models does not include reverse recovery loss, which would actually be shown in the synchronous switch, and with this limitation in mind the 0W being recorded by Speedfit is correct.

I hope that clears things up!

    Thanks,

    Zack
