Short Circuit Protection WAS175M12BM3

Hello,
we are currently designing a three phase inverter with WAS175M12BM3. For short circuit protection we want to use DESAT protection circuit. Is there any design recommendation for blanking time?
Thank you

Please take a look at the reference design files: CGD1700HB2P-BM3 and CGD1200HB2P-BM3. Adjusting the blanking can be achieved by changing the blanking capacitor value.
Some other notes to consider are:
- Minimizing blanking time (tBlank) and soft shutdown resistance (RSS) will result in significant improvement in short circuit survivability.
- Focus should be placed on balancing the tradeoff between additional tBlank to prevent false trips and decreasing tBlank to reduce short circuit current peak and short circuit energy.
- Selecting a gate driver chip that allows tuneability of both tBlank and RSS is recommended to achieve the highest level of protection.
Thanks,
Paul Kanatzar
