CRD25DA12N-FMC inverter output voltage

Hello,

There is something I would like to consult about the 25kW Inverter design. The input of the system is nominally 800V and the output voltage is 480VAC. However, since the voltage between phases is 220V according to the standards, shouldn't it provide a voltage between 380-400V to the network? How does the inverter in question work in this case?

Thanks,

Have a nice day.

    Hello Sema_Akyuz,

Thank you for your question. The nominal voltages were selected for North American applications. However, if your goal is to operate at lower voltages, you can reduce the input bus voltage, change the modulation factor, or switch to different control methods. Please note that this system should not be connected directly to the grid.

Using a space-vector modulation control strategy, each phase can reach a theoretical peak voltage of Vbus/sqrt(3) line-to-neutral or 462V. This is equivalent to 565Vrms line-to-line, as shown below.

This value is higher than 480V to allow headroom for switching time, dead time, etc. The controller can be used to fine tune the output voltage to the target value.

    Thanks,

    Chris N.
