Hello,

Regarding BS501145T-04, is there any information on the maximum current it can withstand and for how long?

For example 450A for <1ms? If not, is there any way to calculate it?

    Hello,

    We do not have a spec for that. It is somewhat difficult to calculate the fusing current limit of the wire for a short pulse. In these short time scales, there is essentially no cooling of the conductor, and so the limit is related to the energy dissipated and the heat capacity of the wire. Searching for "wire adiabatic current limit" provides some resources for estimating this limit. The inductor is wound with 0.8mm copper wire. It may be possible to achieve the current and duration you mentioned, but we cannot guarantee it.

    The manufacturer, Bourns, may be able to provide additional insight as well.
