Gate Pins at CAB006M12GM3

Hi,
at the power GM3 modules e.g. CAB006M12GM3 there are two pairs of pins for connecting the gate driver. Is it really necessary to use both pairs or is it possible to leave it open?

Hi Michael,
Yes. It is essential to connect both pair of pins on the half bridge GM module to the gate driver. Each switch position consists of multiple dies in parallel. The MOSFET dies are arranged around both pins and connecting both sets of pins to the driver will ensure that the individual dies see the gate pulse at the same time. It also directly influences the current sharing between the dies. A design example on how to connect the pins can be viewed here
