Gate Drivers disabled with HVDC in CRD300DA12E-XM3

Hi there,

I'm wondering if the gate drivers shall be powered-up (PSDIS signal from the LaunchPad) before high voltage is set in the DC side.

I've faced in the past issues with IGBTs if the gate drivers are not power-up and there is high voltage is the DC side.

Best regards,

    Hello BorjaH,

It is best practice to enable power to the gate drivers before applying high voltage to the DC bus.

The modules will block voltage at VGS = 0 V, but it is safest to ensure that the drivers are providing VGS = -4 V before introducing a bus voltage. We have also included VGS bleeder resistors on the gate driver boards to prevent charge-up of the gate to help ensure the modules block voltage in a power supply disabled state.

    Best Regards,

    Austin C.
