EAB450M12XM3 and EAB525F12XM3
Hi there,
I am new here. I am now looking for a SiC module, which can cover a current from 450A to 550A.
Finally I focused on the module EAB450M12XM3. According to datasheet it can take max 450A. I couldn´t find any internal thermal resistance and capacitance for the transient overcurrent.
Is it possiable to overload the module/chips for a short time? For example 1s. If yes, which current can be hold for 1s?
In addition I also found another module named EAB525F12XM3. Unfortunately I coundn´t find any datasheet about that.
It has the same package size as the EAB450M12XM3, it might also have the same number of dies inside the package.( 5 dies parallel). Due to the Pin Fin concept, it could take max. 525A(according to the name EAB525xxxxx)
It will be very thankful if someone would share some infos about this module.

Hi Günni,
Figure 17 of the EAB450M12XM3 datasheet includes the transient thermal impedance information, which can be used to calculate the maximum overload current for various pulse lengths. The quickest and simplest way to determine maximum current for a given pulse time is by running an LTspice simulation using our EAB450M12XM3 (or CAB450M12XM3) model. The LTspice model utilizes this transient thermal impedance data and the losses on the MOSFETs to determine the junction temperature even during short transient events.
As the CAB525F12XM3 is in the pre-release stage, I'll provide information separately in an email.
Best Regards,
Austin C.
