Please tell me about MOD-MB-0900V-40A and GUI.

VOLTAGE

  • Which signals are monitored by “Input Voltage” and “Output Voltage”, V_REMOTE, VBUS_SNS, VPHASE_SNS?
  • The schematic says “Gain: 1000VDC = 3V”. Is it OK that 0VDC = 0V?

CURRENT

  • Which signals are monitored by “Input Current” and “Output Current”, I_PHASE_SNS, I_BUS_SNS?
  • The schematic says “sensitivity: 39.6mV/A with DIP switches in default position 0A=1.65V +50A=2.64A -50A= 0.66V”. Is it correct?

FAN_CONTROL

  • Input high/low threshold

    Greetings:

Input/output voltage and input/output current are topology dependent. In the GUI, if you select a boost converter topology, the input voltage will be the source voltage that is feeding into the boost inductor. This signal is referred to as V_REMOTE in the schematic.

The input current (I_PHASE_SNS) would be the boost inductor current which feeds into the half bridge midpoint. The output voltage would be the load voltage which also happens to be the DC bus voltage (VBUS_SNS). The output current would be the DC bus current (I_BUS_SNS).

In a buck topology, the signals are reversed. The input voltage will be the DC bus voltage (VBUS_SNS). The input current will be the DC bus current (I_BUS_SNS). The output voltage will be the voltage on the load side of the output LC filter (V_REMOTE). The output current will be the current flowing out of the half-bridge into the filter inductor (I_PHASE).

As for the current sensor sensitivity, the schematic amps to volts table is incorrect. If the DIP switches are in their default positions, the current signal gain is as follows: 0A=1.65V +33.3A=2.97A -33.3A= 0.33V. The gain table (pasted below) in the user guide is correct. The default gain position is circled in red.

The fan will start when the system is run as a power converter. When the power convertor is switched off, the fans will stop running. Depending on which control card/firmware is used, the fan may run approximately a minute after the pwm is turned off to cool the system.
