"Hi! Could you please clarify whether the overcurrent protection in the 25kW SiC Wolfspeed Converter (CRD25DA12N-FMC) is implemented as a built-in tripping mechanism or through your CCS code?"

    Hello,

The CRD25DA12N-FMC does not include a built-in overcurrent tripping mechanism. The trip can be configured in CCS code by using the high/low limit of the Post Processing Blocks (PPBs) feature of the controller analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The PPBs can be used to monitor if the current measurement exceeds a pre-defined value. Alternatively, the "Overcurrent References" resistor dividers on the schematic can be adjusted to a pre-defined trip voltage which equates to a relevant current. An interrupt can be configured in the controller to trigger when one of the overcurrent detection operational amplifier circuits is tripped.

    Thanks,

    Chris N.
