Need support for making SIMSCAPE component from SPICE

Waqar

Hi, I want to use SPICE-Imported MOSFET in my MATLAB simulation and to add a MOSFET in the SIMSCAPE library by doing the conversion from SPICE to Simscape.

I have downloaded the spice models of MOSFETs from your website and I am using the command "subcircuit2ssc" however its not working and not creating the simscape symbol .

Question 1. Are your spice models convertible into the Simscape component.

Question 2. Do I need extra files from your website

For your reference, here is a more detailed version of the question.

Looking forward for the support from your side,

Thanks from

Waqar Ahmad

    Hi Waqar,

The SPICE-Imported MOSFET Model in Simscape only has the option to use the validated, pre-parameterized device models provided in the drop-down menus in Simscape Block. The subcircuit2ssc function and sscbuild functions are used to create a custom model of the device from a '.cir' file type, which our '.lib' files can be converted to in the LTSpice environment.

Do you have specific MOSFET models that you would like to implement into Simscape? Please let me know and I'll work to perform the conversion and return those Simscape-compatible models to you in the next few days.

    Thanks,

    Zack

    Hi Zack,

Thank you so much for the reply and guidance.

Yes I have a specific MOSFET as follows:

Wolfspeed SiC MOSFET CPM3-1200-0021A Spice Library

It would be great help if I you can guide me as well " How to perform this this conversion on my own"

    Thanks,

    Waqar

    Hello Zack,

Can we convert the spice model I shared with you to a .cir file?

Looking forward to hear from you :) .

    Regards,

    Waqar

    Hi Waqar,

Yes, you can convert the model file by changing the file extension from '.lib' to '.cir'. This will not cause any formatting issues. I'm still working on validating the performance of the device in Simscape following the conversion. I will let you know when this process is finished.

    Thanks,

    Zack

    Hi Waqar,

I wanted to let you know that I'm still working on this request with Simscape and I will provide you an update on the progress by 5/31/2022.

    Thanks,

    Zack

    Hi Waqar,

I put together a PowerPoint that should guide you through the process of converting from a subcircuit model to a Simscape component.

I have attached the presentation below as well as links to the functions used in MATLAB to facilitate this conversion. I was able to import the model and run it in Simscape so I've also attached the custom library, model folder, and subcircuit model.

Please let me know if you have any more question!

    Thanks,

    Zack
