Hi,

I want to know the storage life of CAB011M12FM3T with Pre-Applied Phase Change Thermal Interface Material.

Is the performance of TIM affected if module is stored for a long time before attaching it to the heat sink?

Hi Jiten,

The recommended storage condition for Wolfpack modules with pre-applied TIM is 12 months as explained in this application note section 3.2. Longer periods of storage may lead to drying out of the TIM which can lead to the TIM not spreading out uniformly when attached to a heatsink and this can result in performance issues. Hence it is always advised to follow the storage recommendations listed in the note.

Here is a picture of the packaging of the FM/GM Wolfpack modules with PATIM. A GM module is depicted here, but FM modules are also shipped in the same packaging.
