SPEEDVAL KIT HALF-BRIDGE MOTHERB : MOD-MB-HB-0900V-40A Single phase inverter testing
Dear all,
I have question about SPEEDVAL KIT HALF-BRIDGE MOTHERB : MOD-MB-HB-0900V-40A.
I'd like test sinlge phase inverter using it.
However, there is no reference about it in the datahseet.
I think it is possible to test single phase using the speedval kit.
I have questions about it.
Question 1) DC link cap
One thing I concered is that DC link cap.
Does it include DC link cap or not? more specific, the DC link cap should be splited by VDC/2.
Question 2) Modify the speed kit
Also, I'd like to modifiy the test kit to auxiliary resaonant commutated pole inverter(ARCP).
Red one is the Speed kit and other things are the external one.
Have you tried like this circuit? I think it is possible. Do you have any concern about the configuration?
Question 3) Dspace.
I'd like to use DSpace as the gate signal function generator.
This is becauase the mother board can suport external fuction generator using BNC cable.
Have you test it using Dspace?
Best regards,

Hello,
Thanks for your inquiry. Here are the answers to your questions:
- The DC link consists of four 12uF 1100V film capacitors in parallel. There is no mid-bus.
- The configuration for the auxiliary resonant commutated pole inverter is not possible using the standard MOSFET daughter cards. The MOSFET cards are designs as a standard half-bridge, meaning that the source of the high-side is connected to the drain of the low-side. In the topology you mentioned, I believe you would need either a common-source or a common-drain configuration in order to control the AC current.
- We have not used DSpace, but you can use any source to generate the PWM signals as long as you can provide a 0-5V PWM signal to the BNC.
Thanks,
Adam
