Hi,

I chose the mosfet C3M0021120K for my application but I'm having some difficulties to search for an appropriate gate driver. The mosfet has the kelvin source. The gate drive should have a maximum power of 1W. Does anyone suggest a correct part number for the gate driver?

Thanks in advance

    Greetings:

If you can share a little information about your application, it will help us recommend a driver suitable for your requirements. Is this an automotive or industrial application? Does your application require short circuit protection? Are you looking for a lower cost driver that has just the basic features or one with more features such as adjustable slew rate, adjustable blanking time (desat/overcurrent), etc.

Hi Julius, the main difficult is about the connoection of Kelvin source. May application is industrial, I need also a short circuit protection, nothing adjustable. Thanks

The Kelvin source pin is what will connect to your gate drive loop. The power source pin is what connects to the power loop. With proper layout, the kelvin source pin will allow you to achieve much lower switching losses. If you are new to designing with a kelvin source I recommend you take a look at some of the layouts on our reference designs. The layout files are all available on our website.

I am attaching a link to another thread that contains some slides that will aid you in gate driver selection. The UCC21710 or ADuM4146 would be potential options as they both have short circuit protection. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
